I am Alison Trexel, a seasoned but innovative educator that is always ready for new challenges and opportunities to use cutting edge teaching tools and skills to best serve all children in both traditional brick and mortar and also online learning environments. For too long our country has relied heavily on antiquated and ineffective teaching models that originated with the rise of the public schools in the mid-1800s. In this time of rapid technological innovations, we have an obligation to our students to ensure that we are using the best, most current and most meaningful strategies to reach a wide plethora of learners. Each child is different. There is no one approach but there is one thing we can be sure of.... our students need us to do better. They need 100% of our energy and enthusiasm every day. They need to know that their teachers are 100% committed to their future success. And they need to know that we care. Without the interpersonal relationships, students can't build the trust and confidence necessary to take risks and power through with a growth mindset. Yes, that is a big ask of educators but it is the only way forward and I can't wait to be a part of it!
